    Description

1931 Yearbook "The Griffin" from Roycemore (Girls' College Preparatory) School in Evanston, Illinois
Roycemore was founded in 1915 as a girls' college preparatory school and became co-educational in 1962.  The original north Evanston campus was located in a National Historic Landmark building designed by Lawrence Buck.   The graphics and photos in this yearbook have a great Art Deco style.  The clothing and hairstyles are great reference for costumes and decor of the period.  There are over 30 pages of advertising from the Chicago, Evanston, and Wilmette, Illinois area.
I find it interesting they had many sports teams, including Hockey, Baseball, Volley Ball, Basketball, Track  and Tennis. Also "all Lady plays" with some students playing a "Man"s Role".
Softcover yearbook measures 8" by 10 3/4" and has 205 pages.  The original owner / student's name "Esther Grulee" is written in ink just inside the front cover (she was a Junior, I include that image).  The overall condition of the yearbook is very good with clean and tight contents. The back cover has some kind of white residue on the back.  Please look through the photos and feel free to ask any questions you might have.
